We did the tracking for the bass and drums september 07 if I recall this correctly (actually I'm wrong, more likely '06 according to Dufficy), in Leon's loungeroom on Petrie tce. A Brisbane share house seeing many a band member pass through it's walls like slime. The Saint's wrote I'm stranded down the way punk fans. Record using 4 track cassette for the first time and realising we probably should have been all along. The guitars, vocals/synths/etc were overdubbed at Helena's house, Vulture st + Mine bedroom aka the lower echelon. These files then sat dormant on a G4 running OS9, our only entry to the protools domain. And there it sat in the back of my mind for years on end. The band had broken up/moved on. other projects dominated timeframes. Who would listen to this record even if we did release it? why release a record that has no active groop to play it's tunage? Then finally, after this year gracing me with 2 hard-drive failures and scattered memories torn between lost forever/rekindled, a resolution was made to mix this belated record down and put the entangled folder structure and poor naming conventions to rest. Mixed and mastered ineptly in an entirely different bedroom for better or worse. Courtesy of the now middle echelon, this record will hopefully bring joy to all astral forms of life. or at least the 4-5 people that kept bugging me to finish this, you know who you are. Thank-you, it's been fun.
